On September10, 2013, the Unveiling Ceremony of “SIOM-RIKEN Joint Research Laboratory” was held at SIOM. The Director of SIOM Prof. Li Ruxin and RIKEN Chief Scientist Katsumi Midorikawa gave the addresses respectively and then unveiled the plaque together.
Chinese Academy of Sciences and RIKEN has been steadily increasing the collaborations since 1982 first signed an agreement for research cooperation, but it will be the first joint laboratory under two institutes. The mission of the Joint Research Laboratory is to accelerate the research on laser science and the development of related technologies.
