The 1st Asia-Pacific User Meeting for the Helmholtz International Beamline for Extreme Fields was held successfully in Shanghai

The 1st Asia-Pacific User Meeting for the Helmholtz International Beamline for Extreme Fields co-organized by Shanghai Institute of Optics and Fine Mechanics (SIOM), Chinese Academy of Sciences and Helmholtz-Zentrum Dresden-Rossend (HZDR) was held successfully in June 23-24, 2016 in Shanghai. Prof. Ruxin Li, the director of SIOM and Prof. Hideaki Takabe from HZDR are co-chairs of the conference. Over 40 experts and scientists from China, USA, Japan, Germany and Korea attended this conference.

 

At the opening ceremony, Prof. Ruxin Li gave a warmly welcome address, Prof. Hideaki Takabe welcomed all attendees on behalf of HIBEF. Afterwards, the leader of HIBEF project, Prof. Thomas E. Cowan gave a conference report.

 

The conference includes 4 sessions: HIBEF, Network-1, Target and Network-2, covering 20 scientific reports. In addition, there were 2 discussions and 1 poster session, in which the speakers and attendees had fruitful discussions on the concerning issues.

 

As the 1st Asia-Pacific user meeting, the conference promotes participation of Asia-Pacific countries into the HIBEF project, China will also give important contributions in the international cooperation of HIBEF.
